We are very excited to announce that the bookings for our popular Summer holiday drama workshops are open. We will be using the St. Monica's Parish Centre, which has several spacious rooms for us to use, a large garden and play area, and accessible toilets.
Themes:
Introductory stage (4-7 year olds)
Pinocchio and his friends
Children will step into a story and discover the characters through movement, song, poetry and improvised adventures. They will also make costumes, props and masks and put everything together on the last day in a presentation for friends and family.
Junior stage (7-11 year olds)
Incredibly naughty children!
Children will explore their theme using devising drama, physical theatre, creative writing, mime and many other performance and communication techniques, as well as costume, prop and mask-making. The week will culminate in a recital for friends and family which showcases their work.

Testimonials from last year:
"Thank you for the most stimulating week-long workshop which our son Neil attended. He enjoyed every moment of it. Apart from the junior performance, which we enjoyed very much for Neil's participation, I must congratulate you on the 'space-time' show put up by the older kids. I came away utterly gobsmacked. The content and overall inventiveness was amazing and the confidence with which the kids performed quite astonishing. "
“The boys couldn't say enough about the workshop so thank you very much!”
“The children were clearly both happy and excited to be performing in front of their parents”
“Our child learns new skills and develops her confidence while – in her words – ‘having lots of fun, dad’.”
“The Playing Space offers something quite unique. This is not a 'production line' operation... there is a sincere appreciation of the uniqueness of each child's character.”
“My son was buoyant when he came out of the class.”
“Tania absolutely loved coming to The Summer workshops... thanks for making the time she had there so very enjoyable.”
“They all said the best treat they could have would be to do drama again!”
