An evening talk marking Holocaust Memorial Day led by Jan Marsh, historian and author, as she shares the poignant stories behind the faces of survivors of the Holocaust who made their home in Haringey. This talk accompanies a special photographic exhibition of the same name at Bruce Castle Museum - 'Portraits for Posterity' (external link), by photographer Matt Writtle, in association with Jan Marsh and Jacki Reason.
Jan will be joined on the evening by Haringey resident John Hajdu (external link), who will tell his own very moving story of his early life in Hungary during World War Two under the Nazi regime, and his subsequent experiences after the Holocaust as a refugee in post-WW2 Europe.
Each face tells their own story - ones that should never be forgotten. The exhibition Portraits for Posterity provides a permanent memorial that also commemorates the millions who perished without portraits.
Doors open at 7pm. Refreshments available. Kindly supported by the Friends of Bruce Castle.
