“A wander around Winchmore Hill and a walk in a park”

(or “from village green to village green”)

Monday 15 July – meet on the platform at Bowes Park BR station at 18.50 ticketed and ready for the 18.59 train to Hertford North. If needed, please buy a single ticket to Winchmore Hill or use Oyster Pay As You Go.

After the very short train journey to Winchmore Hill (only 4 mins from Bowes Park), we will wander around Winchmore Hill Green, the old centre of Winchmore Hill which retains some of its village character and many interesting buildings.

From the centre Winchmore Hill Green we will walk through the remains of Winchmore Hill Woods into Grovelands Park, the landscaped gardens of the former Southgate Grove, the Nash designed mansion now named Grovelands House.

After leaving Grovelands Park, we will cut through the Meadway estate to Southgate Green for some well-earned rest and refreshment in Ye Olde Cherry Tree pub.  Further details here
