EVENING WALK ALONG THE PYMMES BROOK FROM EAST BARNET TO SOUTHGATE - Meeting point and time: Bounds Green Tube Station at 18:45
LENGTH: 3 to 3½ miles
A pleasant walk through a delightful green swathe in N London. We follow the Pymmes Brook through Oakhill and Arnos Parks (connected by a leafy section of the brook that runs the length of Hampden Way at the back of the houses). Plan A at this point is to cross into Broomfield Park and do a circuit including the walled garden over to Palmers Green, Plan B is to follow side streets uphill to Old Southgate Green.
Walk leader: Caroline Wall (07803 172527)
Outward Journey: We will catch the 184 bus from the stop just a few yards down Brownlow Road and alight just short of East Barnet Village.
Homeward Journey and post-walk drinks:
Ø If Plan A (see above) we will exit Broomfield Park and cross the road to Palmers Green Station and catch the train 1 stop to Bowes Park with optional post-walk drinks at The Step.
Ø If Plan B our post-walk drinks at Ye Olde Cherry Tree, Old Southgate Green precede our journey home from the bus stop just outside the Pub. The choice is the 299 bus back to Bounds Green or the 121 to Green Lanes/Wood Green if that is more convenient for some.
