Has anyone come across this brilliant initiative? I read an article on it in Good Housekeeping magazine and I think it is totally inspired. Just want to spread the word.

For a couple of years now, we've been funding "silver surfing" computer lessons for a local community group, using Enfield Residents Priority monies. We started by building a computer room at Trinity at Bowes Church, then organised lessons meant to get over 50s up to speed with Skype etc so they can stay in touch with their more computer-literate friends and relatives worldwide.  Otherwise, we've also got a number of new green spaces in Bowes ward. They all need friends and carers, something that different generations can do together.

Again thanks for your engagement - it is good to know that Enfield are using money effectively and purposefully.

Great...thanks for that Alan.

I'd love to chat at some point in the future.  At the moment, we've a few ideas we're trying to stitch together.  When we've had a bit more time to gather our thoughts, I'll let you know!

With pleasure Ashleena. Mobile number on http://boweslabour.blogspot.co.uk/. Speak soon!

Hi,
