I listened to R4 for the Big Ben bongs but couldn't hear any other bells outside my window.

I did indeed though ended up doing it at HMS Belfast near my work. Great fun - and the big guns were fired to mark the beginning and end of the frantic dinging. Wish we could start every Friday like that!

We rang our doorbell for a minute or two but apart from that the street was quiet as usual. The neighbours probably thought it was just an over-enthusiastic postman.
