A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
On New Year's morning there was a huge heap of empty fireworks boxes piled up under the tree at the top of the steps to the New River Path off Myddleton Rd. The excellent waste collection teams do not collect from there..... so I started to take the boxes out to the road bin. Two young women came along from the Path with their dog... and kindly helped me carry them all out. We shared our criticisms of people who don't clear up their own mess, and how much money these must have cost. One woman spotted the price on the biggest box. £599.99 for one box of fireworks. Another box was £349.99. In total there must have been about £1,200 up in smoke. More money than sense! And I am surprised that people living in or near Myddleton Rd have that sort of money to waste. Next year..... if this was you.... please take your used fireworks boxes away... or better still.....donate your superfluous money to a good charity or two. Thank you to the two young women.
