The next Bowes Ward Forum for those living in Enfield will be held from 7.30pm -10pm on Thursday 23 October at Trinity at Bowes Church on Palmerston Road (junction North Circular). I am sure that Haringey residents will also be made welcome, for example, Bowes Passage
This is an opportunity to speak with your local Enfield Labour councillors (Achilleas Georgiou, Yasemin Brett and Alan Sitkin) about topics of local interest. There are already three items on the agenda:
The forum provides an opportunity for local residents to raise any issues of concern within the Enfield boundary, either in advance by email, or on the night. The councillors are hoping that the ward’s new police sergeant will attend

This event is an opportunity to find out what is really happening with the antisocial behaviour, drug dealing and prostitution on the service road behind Green Lanes shops (see this discussion)- contrary to the impression given in the local press it seems police are aware of these incidents ... and for whatever reason have chosen not to sort it out.
It is unfortunate that the council officer has asked local residents to do the job of the police by gathering evidence and witness reports ... but if that is what we must do then let's make sure Councillors and Officers are made aware of the incidents the police are turning a blind eye to.
For the benefit of those who were noty able to attend, several members of the Bowes Safer Neighbourhoods Team attended the first half an hour of the meeting. Much was made by Councillors of the reduction in the size of the Ward SNT team; and the SNT Team was repeatedly asked the best means of getting a police reponse to the crime types alleged by John Mellor, above.
Subsequent to the meeting, the crime map of Enfield was captured from here and is reproduced below
The reported crime for the two sub Wards of Bowes is shown as "Average", typically:
Telephone calls to 101 should be logged on to the Crime Reporting information System (CRIS). Information about this Reporting system is available here . Considering the alleged number of complaints made at the meeting, it is suggested that an Information Request be made to see how the many residents' telephone calls have achieved notifiable offence status and how many have been recorded as "no crime"
