Today I spotted two yellow bags marked clinical waste dumped on Myddleton Road.

Obviously any waste dumped along there is bad (and there's lots today), but this could potentially contain needles or other harmful waste. Not only is it disgusting it's a genuine public health harm.

I understand this has happened before. Thankfully today the local Councillors have responded quickly, but if anyone else notices more bags it should be reported to the Council or Veolia.

Hi Toby et al

Just to say that we spotted another two yesterday outside the same address and reported them immediately. I suspect that it isn't in fact clinical waste but rather someone using the bags for general refuse. That being said, with no confirmation, it does need to be treated as such. We have asked officers to target this particular address, not just the residents but also the owner who must take responsibility for the disposal arrangements in the property, and we'll feed back.

Thanks Joanna. Good to know it's being looked into.

After the flurry of twitter activity following this discovery the road seemed extra clean for a few days - which is great.

Thanks
