Consultation on more frequent rail services on Hertford Loop

Govia Thameslink Railway are currently consulting about their proposals for improved weekend services on their franchise, which covers Thameslink, Great Northern, Southern and Gatwick Express.

On the Hertford Loop (which runs through our area) they are proposing a big increase in frequency on weekdays and Saturdays (offpeak 6 trains an hour from Palmers Green, 4 trains an hour from Bowes Park).  However, they have dropped their earlier promise to double the Sunday service and now plan to stick to two trains an hour all day.

I've been looking forward to a proper "metro" service since it was first mentioned last year and am very disappointed about the Sunday proposals.  I think we should be lobbying for 4 trains an hour.

For more details read my article at www.palmersgreencommunity.org.uk/pgc/public-transport/1754-2018-tim....

(In the article I talk about "May 2018", which is when previous communications from Govia have said that the new services will start.  But the latest consultation just says "2018".)
