A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
New proposals for Wood Green town centre improvement scheme, which is funded by Transport for London are currently in the early stages of development.
The scheme will address improvements to walking and cycling facilities, links to transport interchanges, accessibility, street lighting, street furniture, tree planting, public safety and better public spaces. It will play a key role in revitalising Wood Green shopping area, making it a more attractive place to visit.
Plans include making the public space safer and easier to get around; and to reflect the kind of town centre residents want.
Residents are encouraged to share their thoughts about the proposals via the LB Haringey website:

It would be good if as many local people as possible responded to the online consultation on these plans! The improvements sound quite impressive but I wonder if there'll be any budget for future maintenance and repair?
A meeting of the Parkside Malvern Residents Association considered these proposals and discussion was shared on their Twitter account - see the Storify Report for the detail.
Interestingly they also called for a new Pocket Park in the area see this discussion
The discussion on the plans for the future of Wood Green High Street was continued this week with a blog post on the Tottenham and Wood Green Journal Website by member of this site - and Founder of Noel Park Net Rachella Sinclair - you can read her blog here
Done. Thanks for the heads up and for the link to that excellent piece by Rachella.
Thanks!
The next phase of this process has seen the council publish their consultation summary report and the project is now at the "detailed design stage" Full infomation - including links to the council reports are on the LB Haringey website
