Hi,

I've just moved into Bounds Green and wondered if anyone had any gym recommendations - the closer to the tube station the better!

Thanks,

Donna

There's a small gym that's opened recently on Myddleton Rd http://giantsgym.co.uk/ I haven't used it but a friend of ours does and she likes it.  If you want more facilities there is the Fusion leisure centre at Southgate which is a short walk from Southgate Tube http://www.southgateleisurecentre.com/ which is the one I use - its ok, think 'previously a public leisure centre now out-sourced to the private sector by Enfield council'.  As I recall the membership terms are more flexible than most private gyms but its not cheap.  It has a full size Olympic pool if you like swimming.  There's another private gym even closer to Southgate tube https://www.puregym.com/gyms/london-southgate/?utm_source=local&... , I'm afraid I haven't used that one.  Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback! I was wondering about Giants Gym - but put off by it's macho branding! If anyone has used it, I'd be interested to hear how it is.

Donna, I've been a member for over a year now and couldn't recommend it more highly. Don't be put off by the name - it's got a very mixed clientele and, despite the small size, has a very decent range of equipment. The guy who runs it with his dad couldn't be friendlier or more approachable. In short, a big thumbs up from me.

Great to hear - I'll check it out! Thanks.

I'll give it a try - at least they offer day passes, which is unusual.

Hi Donna,

The Laboratory is up the road in Muswell Hill. It's expensive, but it's a lovely place and you get full use of the classes, spa and pool. I've been a member there for years, even though it's expensive it works for me with the amount of yoga I do...

Depends what you're after, but thought I'd throw it across for thought.

P.S welcome to the area :)

Thanks! I'll give it a look.

Hello Donna,

I've been using Pure Gym in Southgate for some time now and really like it. Its just two minutes walk from Southgate station. It doesn't have a swimming pool or similar facilities but what I do like about it are the free classes. I think for £20 a month its extremely good value.

Good luck!!
