I'm wondering if there are any Men's/ Dad's groups / Support networks in the area? If not I'm considering starting something.

As middle aged men and dads find themselves increasingly isolated as life gets busier, it can be a difficult process to build quality bonds + friendships especially as many of your peers are living equally busy lives doing the same stuff....

In studies it has been shown ( and it's plain to see in real life ) that women seem to successfully keep several layers of friendship groups intact into middle age and beyond, while 25% of men say they have nobody at all outside the family that they can talk to in times of crisis.

It doesn't have to be some kind of super-serious group, although that wouldn't hurtfrom time to time-but neither would it simply be an excuse to get drunk. Ideally it'd encompass a range of get togethers which would enrich the lives of anyone coming, provide a release valve from family life and spark some friendships between men going through all the familiar challenges, peaks and troughs of modern London life.....

Please let me know if you or anyone you know might be interested. As I am a busy self-employed guy ideally thhis would be something I'd start with one or more other people, to give it a chance of gaining some momentum.

Many thanks,

Hi Nick,

There's a cycling club for Bowes and Bounds parents set up by a local dad and I think it's mainly dads that go - search 128 cyclists on Facebook. Sureka x
