The New River Path will be closed between Myddleton and Whittington for over 3 months for embankment repairs - starting very soon.

On Friday 13th there will be a bus parked at the Whittington end where you can talk to the engineers and learn about all that is planned.  You can also get tea or coffee and biscuits.  10 to 5.00.

They have to do the works in the summer so it does not disturb hibernating bats in the tunnel!

But the man in charge told me that they will be happy to let people in to pick blackberries - just have to ask.
