There is a new planning application which has just been advertised in Haringey.

 App ref HGY/2017/0004

This is for a small part of the works that Thames Water contractors are going to be doing this year - a major repair of the river bank to make it last for many years more.  This application just applies to a small section by the Listed Tunnel Mouth, but there is an interesting document that describes all the works to be done.

Those who walk along the Path will have noticed how badly the bank sides are slipping, and many parts of the river bank are broken etc.  Bits have been fenced off for three years or so.

Soon some further survey work will be done to finalise exactly how the work will proceed, but the Heritage Statement in the application documents say that the piles along the river bank will be 7 metres deep!

The Path will be closed when the work is happening - which may start in April.  I will update you all when I hear further from the contractors.  But if you have a lazy moment - the Heritage Statement is an interesting read.    I attach that here.
