A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
Anyone interested in starting running at a mid morningish or afternoonish time during the week? Probably Aly Paly - nearest park. Broomfield also possibility. I've never run before but am fit (gym, swim, etc) so need to build up stamina.

There is already a weekly walking session in Broomfield Park which you could initially join to test your stamina
Wednesday: Broomfield Park, Meeting point - Rangers Office, By the tennis courts, Off Aldermans Hill, N13 4HE, Time: 10:30am - 11:30 am.
There is a refreshment stop provided at the Palmers Greenery Community Cafe (cafe available, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday only)
I use a treadmill in the gym regularly - is your group walking very active or power walking? How far do you go? (I realise it's an hour long).
cheers rose
It is not MY walking group. They group(s) walk around the perimeter inside of the park. The group usually breaks up into faster and slower groups depends on how much socialising people want to do
ok thanks. rose
Hi Rose,
thanks for this suggestion. As an over 60 myself I am interested in start up activities in the area. Not sure if I can do jogging - maybe power walking - but I am reasonably fit. I do lots of walking in Wales.
Thanks for the message. I already 'power walk' a lot on the treadmill at the gym (not the same as being out) and i am definitely looking to start running. Will prob go out on my own!
