There is a planning application in for 136A Myddleton Road.  This is the imposing property on the Whittington Road corner with the Pizza place below.  Sadly at some time in the last 35 years someone took out the original timber sash windows and put in UPVC.  Part of the current application is to replace three of these with new UPVC windows.

Many of us were very pleased by the decision about UPVC windows in 42 Palmerston road, and the officers report for that quotes policies that would support reinstatement  of the original windows rather than more UPVC. I hope the council stands by those policies, even though the current windows in 136 have been there many years.

The 136a application is also to reinstate the original plasterwork above the windows, which can be seen in this 1962 photo.  That would be great!  And the other details about the entrance area would probably be fine too, but it is hard to know without further details.

Do look at the application, look at the building, look at the photo, read the Palmerston Rd officer's report and then comment on the application if you wish.

I am very pleased to say that this application has been amended.

The amended application is for timber windows as per the originals, plus the re-instatement of other period details.

Well done Haringey Planning and the applicant.
