FYI The Gate pub by Alexandra Palace station will be re-opening in March as a Mitchell and Butler pub under the Castle brand. This is a slightly strange brand which doesn't seen to advertise itself.

Two quite local pubs the Maid of Muswell and the Ranleigh are already under this brand (same menu).

Ooh! looks interesting... do you know if they have any events or live music planned? In the "old days" the Gate* Pub used to have live music in an upstairs room - which later became a pub theatre (more info here)

* The Gate was formerley know as the "Starting Gate" named after its location at the start of the former Alexandra Palace horse racing course nicknamed the "Frying Pan" beacuase of its unusual shape

Sorry, I don't....

I'll be disappointed if The Gate's menu disappears in the re-branding - I love the pizzas and flatbreads!

Sorry to disappoint Dawn, but the menu will definitely be changing and I too shall mourn the passing of those pizza's. Here is pretty much what the menu will be, familiar to many:

I also see tonight that The Prince (Trinity Road along Bounds Green Road) has been re-painted outside and it looks like someone is cleaning / tidying inside. Could be a good development...

I asked one of the workmen as I passed by and he says it will be reopening next week!

Due to open Friday, 20th March. They have uncovered some interesting pictures - see their Facebook Page
