A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
Citizens Advice Enfield is looking for people to staff its new "flagship" charity shop in Palmers Green.
The new shop is just south of the North Circular, on the corner of Green Lanes and Tottenhall Road. It sells donated clothing and bric-a-brac to raise money for the services provided by Citizens Advice - free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to anyone who lives in the borough on their rights and responsibilities. Typical problems that they advise on are housing, employment, benefits, debts or immigration issues.
Formerly known as the Enfield Citizen's Advice Bureau, the service started in 1939 in tiny offices in Fore Street, Edmonton. Today, most of the people you will meet at the current offices in Ponders End are still volunteers, but they are supported by a small team of paid staff.
Volunteer charity shop assistants are required to attend a minimum of four hours a week. Various hours and days will be available between Monday and Saturday from 10:00am to 5:00pm. The work includes
