Has anybody seen this fallen masonry at New River Path between Finsbury Road and Partridge Way?

It has been there for a while now. A good few weeks/months.

Looks a lot like someone decided to replace an old wall with a new fence, and the detritus is here.

As I understand it this is land owned by Thames Water and managed by Haringey Council under a lease arrrangement. I have now lodged an offcial compaliant with Haringey Council for failing to remove this mess. Haringey Council refused and said ask the landowner (Thames Water, they bounced it back as Council responsibility, the Council then said it is responsibility of the Canals and Rivers Trust (CRT) which I thought was preposterous, but I asked the CRT anyway, they bounced it back as Council responsibility, hance the offical complaint.

I have just reported the two blocked drains further down the New River Path (towards the Bounds Green Road) to Haringey Council. These are full of mud and cause flooding.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for pursuing this. Just a thought but the owner of a border is normally marked  on title deeds by a "T" with the tail indicating which freehold is responsible for the border fence or wall. The fact that the wall fell onto ground owned by Thames Water and managed by Haringey doesn't necessarily mean they are responsible. It could be the freeholder of the houses on Finsbury Road. Hope this helps.

The council now tell me me that the freeholders are respnsible but only one of the 4 has cleared the waste they are respnsible for. The council has issued warning letters for clearance and charge back, but I am not happy this has taken so long and not happy the council gave me the runaround denying responsibility for enforcement.

Tanya - yes this is a continuing problem at that location and laos in Nightingale Gardens over the other side of Bounds Green Road where the big pools of water when it rains are even worse. The soakaways need to be serviced regularly otherwise of course they will block up when rains bring down a mixture of water and fibrous matter.
