Crowdfunder to stop Haringey Developent Vehicle

As some folk will know, Haringey Council's Cabinet is intent on selling off all its local authority land and estates, including business premises, to a so-called 50/50 partnership with Lendlease, the Australian multi-national with a lousy track record on affordable and social housing [Southwark] and a history of corrupt practice [New York City], and of blacklisting trades unionists. This is now due for agreement by the Cabinet on 3 July- without ever going to full Council, or actual consultation with residents on the huge -- and very risky --implications.

There will be a demonstration, and march against this from Ducketts Common to Civic Centre, from 5:30 pm on 3 July.

Many have now contributed to the crowdfunding campaign to pay for a judicial review in the high court, and we are very grateful to those who have. It is at a critical stage,and we do urgently need to get to our £4,000 target on

Haringey's last nursing home for frail elederly people is being closed by the Haringey Cabinet decision of last December, yet the Scrutiny Panel of the Council, relatives of residents, and those who took part in a long consultation exercise have all said this should be paused at very least until the options of future functions for this very well designed and located site are considered.
