CLEAR-UP DAY THIS SUNDAY, 17th APRIL between 11-1pm

Albert Road Recreation Ground on Durnsford Rd is a wonderfully well-used sports facility with a community cafe.

There’s now a new project to regenerate the old Bowling Green and Hut, (hidden behind a hedge at the back of the Pavilion) and give it a new lease of life. Not as an old-fashioned bowls club but instead Bare-foot Bowling, BBQ & Beer – a facility with no dress code and open to all. In the long run we plan to give the bowling green an all weather surface but raising the money for that will take time.

So first of all we need to clear the rubbish around the site (there’s been a fire at the hut too) and prepare the ground so that we can start using the bowling green this summer from May 1st.

We’re asking people to come along and help with the clear up day on 17th April, 11 - 1pm.

Just turn up if you can!

Thank you for supporting our local park.
