An evening of music and backstage stories celebrating the music of Carole King and James Taylor.

Tickets Members £8 Non-Members £10 Book Online

This celebratory show features the songs of Carole King & James Taylor, with an all star band of Rebecca Turner (keyboard & vocals), Michael Goulding (lead guitar & vocals), Glyn Edwards (drums) plus Tony Hammond (bass and vocals). The show takes the audience on a journey through the early days of Carole King’s writing career at the Brill building and her partnership with Gerry Goffin, and her later career and hugely successful collaboration with James Taylor.

Rebecca Turner from Muswell Hill, is a singer / songwriter / pianist. A much talked about talent who has been described by critics as “the new Carole King”. Rebecca has been delighting audiences with her performances over many years. Her album “Global Soundbite”, recorded with Wendell Richardson (Osibisa) and Bob Thompson, received excellent reviews, as did her single release, Spirit, a beautiful song written by her. Rebecca has performed her own songs at many London venues and is a well-respected session musician.

Michael Goulding is in demand as a guitarist, singer and bass player.. He is currently touring the country with the Trembling Wilburys playing George Harrison. He also plays in many other rock and country bands and is a talented and creative musician.

Tony Hammond started playing in his dad’s band at age 14. He gigged with all the top pub and club London based cabaret acts in the early 80s as well as recording with Donovan and the band Splinter. He was the in-house studio bass player with Southern Music Publishing in Denmark Street playing on dozens of sessions for the likes of Denise Nolan, Five Star and Elaine Paige.

Howard Tibble played with Shakin’ Stevens band for over forty years. He is an admired and accomplished session musician and has worked with many high profile artists such as Cliff Richard and Hank Wangford. He was the drummer on Monty Python’s single ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life’.

Together they wanted to create a show to bring Carole King’s and James Taylor’s songs to life and perform them as authentically as possible.
