NO TRAINS WALTHAMSTOW TO SEVEN SISTERS  TFL Underground are reporting for the weekend of May16/17:

Victoria line There will be no service between Seven Sisters and Walthamstow Central. This is to allow for the installation of a temporary crane to prepare for future work. sawb has asked elsewhere: Just wondering, where is the crane going to be stored between installation this weekend and the start of the blockade in August? Surely there is nowhere in the tunnels for it to be stored? Harsig has replied: : I'd suspect that the crane is to be installed into the crown of the tunnel that forms the crossover cavern. There ought to be enough headroom there for it to remain permanently in position while train pass beneath. The previous reply reported:

This is the cavern above the crossover points on the approach outside Walthamstow Central Station

The Travel News update published on page 57 on Friday 15th May added the following info;

"Valid Tube tickets will be accepted on National Rail services**  between Liverpool Street and Seven Sisters, Tottenham Hale and Walthamstow Central"

A controversial "cage" at Wlathamstow Central station installed in January 2015  is expected to disappear during the Walthamstow closure if Walthamstow Guardian newspaper reports are correct

Bus fare refunds

Bus fares will be refunded for anyone who has not reached the daily cap using pay as you go, if your journey includes:

• Bus route 41, 76 or 558 followed by an entry tap at Seven Sisters within 30 minutes
• An exit tap at Tottenham Hale, followed by a bus tap on route 41, 76, 558 or W4, and an entry tap at Seven Sisters within 30 minutes
• An exit tap at Seven Sisters, followed by a bus tap on route 41, 76 or W4 within 15 minutes

The timetable for Bus Route 558 Chingford Mount to Seven Sisters below is NOT yet available but the details will become accessible at the following london bus routes web site: Passenger Service Vehicles are expected to operate from the Metroline Garage at Cricklewood

Monday-Friday between 8 and 30 August, every 6-10 minutes

Enfield Town Station and Bush Hill Park Station Users should arrive well before the time shown on the Travel Planner/pocket timetable (or the time that they have been used to catching the train Monday Friday) as trains departing up to 2 minutes early to allow longer dwell time at Edmonton Green

Victoria line reopens: Engineering work finished

Victoria Line engineering works that left Walthamstow and Tottenham without Tube trains for a month have finished so that the trains are again operational. But refurbishment work will continue on the escalators at Walthamstow Central into 2016. 

With the new crossover installed in the tunnel Walthamstow Central the Victoria Line capbility should increase to 36 trains per hour end to end
