I was delighted to get this message from the We Love Myddleton Road group organisers and wanted to share it here, in case anyone's not on their mailing list. What a lot was achieved last year! Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved.

Hello!

365 days... 52 weeks... 12 months... one year.

What can happen in one year?

Well, a lot can happen, just on one street...

A hub of four independent businesses can be given new, colourful and eclectic clean shop-fronts, restored in original tree wood.

Over 500 residents can respond to a survey about a local high street they love and want returned to former glories.

A store can appear selling distinctive decor and gifts, all inspired by a photo from 1856.

A sports marketing company with a free stack of magazines in its window can open, encouraging locals to run like the wind.

A summer festival can close the street and fill it with stalls, music, games and more people than anyone can remember.

A shop offering Steinway pianos and practice rooms can open, bringing a musical renaissance to the area.

A new gym can take over a giant empty shop unit, and gather hundreds of new members within weeks.

The restoration of a loved but decaying old clothing store can finally begin, revealing gorgeous old polyester shirts and more treasures besides.

A world-famous Greek restaurant can get a complete makeover, with new decor and lighting.

A restaurant launched less than three years ago can take a big step forward, winning a Time Out award as best local eatery for its culinary riches.

A sewing and fabric workshop can experience altered states with a completely new frontage and interior.

A new atelier and salon can bring a bit of organic beauty to the street.

A top north London estate agency can take over a run-down former stationery shop and add to the road artful wooden frontages and lighting.

A winter festival can bring Santa, lantern-making and fun-fair rides to the street and a parade of carol singers and men behaving badly.

So, you see, a lot can happen in one year.

Happy New Year and see you in 2016!
