Following our recent discussions about the Prince Pub on the corner of Finsbury Road and Trinity Road a formal application for listing the premises as an Asset of Community Value has been prepared by Richard Matz.  A copy of the application is available to download.

Now, to complete the formal application, we need a minimum of 21 site members based in Haringey or an adjacent borough to sign-up and confirm their support.

We have a simple and secure online system  - please add your name address and postcode information to this simple online form, and show Haringey Council how much support there is locally to preserve this building as a local community asset.

A  Drink will be on the counter for you from Me  when the the pub is open and up and running as a community public house and hopefully see some nice music bands and food served there.

Anyone know if there is any progress with the building being sold and re-developed? Such a shame that such a beautiful building looks like such an eyesore.

Following our success in listing the pub as an Asset of Community Value in October 2015, I emailed several brewery chains alerting them to the potential business opportunities at the site. This has led to several requests for further information but no news as yet on any positive development. The inside word is that the freeholder has recently instructed his agent to put both the pub and the Housing of Multiple Occupancy site above it on the market as it stands but no estate agent signs visible yet though. The pub sign has disappeared but upstairs is still very much occupied. A local entrepreneur was considering the feasibility of investing in the site. Watch this space!

I think the location is the problem with this pub. It's too far away from any affluent areas to make it economically viable. People who live near the palace go to The Gate, or to Muswell Hill. People in Bounds Green go to the Ranelagh, or The Springfield. That only leaves the area in/around Wood Green.

I think some other community venture/business would suit this building.

I don't agree that the location is a problem. Also, except for The Springfield, the other pubs you mention and the Maid of Muswell are all part of the same large pub chain and so offer similar food and drink. My self-proclaimed ale expert of a partner would love to see a pub with great quality ale that is only two minutes walk away.

Pub chains will only invest where they can make money. There may be a few people in the area who would like a decent pub, but these days most profit is made on food, not drink, and I can't see that location being a destination for people.
