News this week that the W3 bus which runs between Finsbury Park Station and  Northumberland Park (with London's best view froma bus; over Ally Pally Hill) is the most complained about bus route in London.

Joanne McCartney the London Assembley member for Enfield and Haringey posed a question to Mayor Boris Johnson which elicited the response that more passenger complaints (52 in total) have been made against this route than any other in London.

Are there any local routes that you find frustrating?

However its not all negative for the W3Bus this week - it features in a delightful new hand made screen print in the style of classic London Transport Posters by Stoke Newington based artist Beyond Thrilled  This is one in a series which feature London's "off-underground and oft-overlooked neighbourhoods" Posters have a modern twist - bearing the legend "No Underground. Get over it!"

I don't have a worst route at present, but I'm very glad the 141 is back running all the way to the North Circ!

I used to live very close to the W3 route (off Perth Road) and I can say with some certainty that it was my very favourite route ever. Here are some of the places we used to go regularly using that bus from a stop just 2 minutes walk from my house:

- Ally Pally (palace, park, pond and skating)

- Park Road Swimming Pool

- The Starting Gate Pub

- The Old Dairy Pub

- Finsbury Park tube (every day when the Piccadilly line was shut after 7th July)

- Rowland Hill Nursery

- Wood Green Shopping City (ok, ok, I know)

- CSV Van Hire

Now I'm on the 221 route, it's just not the same.

I love the W3 -  can't understand why it's had so much flack. Though admittedly I don't use it more that once a week. Used to use it daily when I lived in Stroud Green, and remember W7 bus envy at Finsbury Park, where there always seemed to be so many more W7s than W3s.

haha all of them! ;) cycling between Manor house to Woodgreen is a nightmare at the best of times

currently there are 8 different bus routes between Turnpike Lane and Wood Green, does anyone think this is maybe excessive? environmentally unfriendly? adds to congestion? why anyone cant walk between those stops is strange, there are bus stations at TL and WG, anyone think the high st should be, perhaps, bus free? they do add to alot of the traffic woes in that area and most of the time, they themselves are fighting eachother for position! you cant fit 3 double deckers into the bus stops, you could even go as far as making WG bus station accessable to passengers, a nice terminus thats safe and sheltered, currently its bus and bus drivers on a smoke break only

W3 most probably due to Service to Events @  Alexandra Palace when there are No Special Service bus's

For Events -  Do go through the Palace often stuck behind W3's

67 are a grip with Me - But suspect it's down to traffic issues

Especially if trying to pass through Turnpike Lane and High Road - Wood Green

444 is another I use - Turnpike to North Middlesex Hospital

Against believe not enough Bus's now that the main Entrance to Hospital is on their Route

When using a Small single Decker Bus - Especially School Times -

BOB/R

Havent used the W3 much but I do wonder why there is NO bus route from Bounds Green to Crouch End. Why do we have to change at Turnpike Lane? TFL should bring in one of those small buses like the C11 in Hampstead/Gospel Oak to do the job.

Strange how passionate we can feel about someting so "pedestrian" as a bus route...

Like Lindsey I am delighted the 141 now runs up to the A406 again - we used it all the way home from Trafalgar Square a couple of weekends ago - it's a great way to travel around town ... if you are not in a hurry.

I definitely agree with Susie and Dave that the W3 is a good route (to some well-used destinations) but I think as Robert suggests an increase in the number of events at Ally Pally recently (darts, snooker, gigs etc) may have put pressure on the service.

On the rare occasions I have used the 232 recently I have found it really irritating that - just as you get free of the A406 traffic  - the bus sits outside Arnos Grove Swimming Pool for what seems like ages... for no discernable reason!

And Lucy if you do want to suggest a new bus route - Transport for London invites suggestions and feedback on their website

Coming through Alexander Palace to night

Noticed plenty of Bus's - not aware of any Events

But Triple Lighting due to land closure in Bedford road was causing major delays

And Many Bus's was terminating Alexandra Road - Back of Palace - By Market Entrance
