A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
An editorial in today's Guardian celebrates the fact that a corrugated iron church, St Michael's and All Angels in Hythe , Kent has been granted Grade II listed status. Looking at the pictures of the building it seems similar to our own local and somewhat neglected Shaftsbury Hall,(pictured) however, the newly listed building is still in regular use.
The Guardian article mentions a book which has catalogued the remaing tin churches of the UK and a few enthusiasts have collected a set of photographs here.
Does any one have any more information about our local Tin Tabernacle?
