A fantastic new interactive documentary From Green Line to Green Lanes consists of a series of 14 video portraits of first and second generation Cypriots (both Greek and Turkish) that live and work in the shops along Green Lanes.Film maker Natalia Kouneli was born in Athens, Greece and has made the film as part of her master's dissertation at Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication.

I am sure readers will recognise some very familiar faces in the film which consists of interviews with some of our best loved local businesses.

The project is an attempt to portray the lifestyle and the dynamics of the relationships between Greek and Turkish speaking people inside the Cypriot community in north London and to understand how a group of people has the power to bring the feeling of a Mediterranean village in the sixties to a neighbourhood just a few miles from the heart of London.

Below is a link to a trailer introducing the film - which can be seen in separate sections on the Project Website: From Green Line to Green Lanes

That's wonderful! I went straight to George Massos and Lefteris - fascinating and heartwarming.
