A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
Hi all my name is Alex and I'm the new owner of the Doms cafe situated at 117 Green Lanes I have read a few reviews from posts that have been put on the site about the cafe .
First of all I would like to apologies about the change of the frontal sign of the shop back in Aug last year The reason for the change was that the old sign was very tired and fragile it was only a matter of time when it would have fell down only to cause major injury to passers by I would also like to state that the old sign was sent to Spitalfield market in east London to be auctioned off and all proceeds went to cancer research in potters bar a lot of the old vintage items were also given to the cancer research shop a few doors down from the cafe
We are a friendly family cafe who welcome families and friends with open arms we have daily specials we do a range of coffees and teas our coffee is the famous segafredo we also offer free wifi to all our customers
Children also under 5 eat for free please feel free to pop in and address any interests or concerns
I would like to invite anyone to join us at our cafe for free tea and coffee so we could make a better community for all
Regards A Medi

Have had lunch here several times since the re- fit, as a single woman and with friends. Have always felt welcomed, looked after and well fed! Would recommend as a local cafe with plenty of veggie options. Sarah.
Hi Alex! If the sign had to go I'm glad it got auctioned off for charity - a great idea. I used to go to Doms regularly when I lived on Sidney Ave years ago... look forward to coming to see you soon, especially now Sarah's mentioned plenty of veggie options :)
Hi Alex. Please give me another call to discuss the next market. Thanks! Lucy
The Front sign is now for sale in an Antique shop in Spitalfields, I saw it yesterday 8/9/13 it is in really good condition and apparently weights a ton! The beautiful pistachio backing is glass, the condition is still good for its age 1948. I used to live on the next parade of shops to Dom's in the early 1960's above a dairy that of course is no longer there. We then moved opposite to Tottenhall Road. I have had many a milkshake in Dom's. The signage was an iconic landmark for me, something that had not changed despite everything else in that area changing. I was sad to see it had been replaced. I was pleasantly shocked to see it for sale yesterday. I am even thinking of buying it........watch this space!
