Notification of planned tree works in Bounds Green & Woodside wards (Bounds Green Road N22/N11)

This announcement has been received from LB Haringey:

Planned maintenance of street trees along the whole length of Bounds Green Road commenced on Monday 10th June and is anticipated to last for 2-3 weeks. The contractor will aim to keep disruption to a minimum during the works.

The work involves general pruning to remove obstructions and removal of hazardous deadwood over road and pavements.

Public notices will be attached to five trees being removed due to poor condition. The location of these trees will be added to our planting list for replacement in the future.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding these works.

Further news about Bounds Green Street Trees from Haringey Council:

RE: Notification of planned tree works on the following parks sites: Bounds Green Road Slips N22; The Drive N11; Tewkesbury Terrace N11

Further to my previous notification, planned works to trees on the above Parks sites is also due to commence in the near future. A large volume of trees have been identified that are in a poor condition and require either removal or crown reduction/pollarding works.

It is planned to remove 12 trees in total across all three sites and pollard 14 sugar maples Acer saccharum on Bounds Green Slips. These trees particularly have become hazardous due to previous works carried out in the distant past, which has caused them to develop significant internal decay. Reduction of these trees back to original reduction points (approx 5-6m) will initially appear drastic but is the best way to mitigate the risk to acceptable levels and prolong their useful lifespan effectively.

The Council has a commitment to replace all trees we remove.

Please contact me if you have any questions regarding these works.

Again there appears to be an unlimited budget for tree maintenance in this part of London. They must be bored...

Amazing that the leafier and wealthier parts seem to be immune from the same affliction hitting these parts of Enfield and Haringey. It's visual vandalism...
