We have had a couple of discussions on the forum that referenced the “Incredible Edible Todmorden” project.

Mary Blake identified it as one of the influences on the recently initiated herb growing project on Bowes Park station platform.

Now the full story of this inspiring and influential community project has been written – and with innovation typical of those around the Todmorden project author Joanna Dobdon has gone about funding the publication of the story in an unconventional way. Using the Kickstarter website, the plan is to secure pre-payment to fund the publication of the Incredible Edible story.

Have a look at this video and just relish the amazing impact that this community-led project has had on the town – if you feel inspired you too can provide support for the publication.

The project is not just limited to community food growing it also connects to many of our ongoing local concerns - local shopping streets, our community gardens, our outdoor community gym and the development of our community market. It's a story that should be shared.

Inspiring! And so very practical. Thanks for sharing.

They're a funny bunch in Todmorden Richard....wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them never mind eat any of their vegetables which are probably poisoned! They talk funny too.

(only joking....absolutely brilliant initiative and Pam is an inspiration. So much to learn from, just so happened I lost many a game of football/cricket/battle with nearby Todmorden FC as a kid)
