Hi all,

Just wondering who else has noticed an increase in fly tipping in the area over the last few weeks? And quite obviously not just household rubbish put out on the wrong bin collection day. Last week there was a huge pile on the corner of Spencer Avenue and Palmerston Rd; and over the last 48 hours, stuff at the Green Lanes end of Sidney Avenue and particularly offensive amounts of rubbish and furniture on Whittington Road; pictures taken earlier today attached. I regularly call the council, who are quite prompt in collection, but the lack of respect of the people who do this is just heartbreaking....

yes, it has been getting worse over the last year. pretty much every day i report some form of fly tipping in this aea. it's particularly bad in roads/areas that are not overlooked by any houses, eg at the end of a row of terraces.

use this online form for haringey:

https://eforms.secure.haringey.gov.uk/ufs/ufsmain?formid=REPORT_A_P...

or this one for Enfield:

haringey usually collect the rubbish within a few days, but sometimes they need reminding after a week, if it has not been collected.

yes, people who flytip are right b*stards. but sadly, unless you actually see who is doing it and the council take action, they get away with it.

I was out earlier this evening and spotted the dumped rubbish by New River on Whittington, looking like a whole room setting of tables and chairs had been set out on the street - so annoying...

wrote something recently about the different online reporting systems for Haringey and Enfield (see this post)  Personally I use the Fix My Street app which will use smart phone location to send a report the the relevant council. It's a pain ... but I think, like all anti-social behaviour, we should make a report every time we see something.

The images provide useful information in that the culprit has misused light blue bags carrying an LBEnfield Council logo
