Bruce Castle Badge-Making Celebration: 50 Years of Women’s Rights & Women’s Liberation
Saturday, December 13, Old Kitchen at Bruce Castle Museum & Archive (Drop-In, from 1 – 3:30 PM)
FREE Workshop, All Ages
Celebrate the 50 Year Anniversary of The Sex Discrimination Act and Equal Pay Act coming into effect in 1975, with your own customized badge! Collage using a range of stickers and photos from the Bruce Castle Museum & Archive and Joyce Butler Archive, commemorating the work of local women to win equal rights across the nation.
Drop by our badge-making station in the Old Kitchen at Bruce Castle & Museum on Saturday, December 13 from 1 to 3:30 PM, to make your free badge.
The date just so happens to be Joyce Butler’s birthday (1910-1992), so it will be the perfect day to celebrate her tireless campaigns for women’s rights and social justice more broadly. All ages are welcome!
