You may have seen the notice on the gate to the New River Path on Whittington Road.  That section of the Path and the play and leisure space at the end of Russell Road will be closed for about 14 weeks from April 6th.  Barhale will be doing clearing, inspection and maintenance work on the two culverts that carry the river under the A406.  A plan of the culverts is attached to this - so you can see how it works.  They will close one culvert, then clean it out and do any necessary works while the water flows through the other one.  Then they will do the second culvert.  They will have a site hut on the Green Space land, and another on the TW yard across the A406 and they need to close two or three parking bays at the end of Russell Road.  Good luck to the team that will do the work.  Our much loved New River will be open and improved for the summer.
