Four hundred years ago in September 1613, the New River, built to bring fresh water in to the capital was completed.
Starting in Ware, in Hertfordshire, it travels 28 miles to the New River head in Islington.
To celebrate this magnificent feat of engineering, Bowes Park’s very own Click Camera Club are exhibiting a collection of photographs inspired by the New River as it is today.
These photographs show some of the life, communities, landscapes and architecture of this historic river, four hundred years after it was completed.
The exhibition is open from Tuesday 24 September – 6 October 2013
