GET WELL SOON LENNY!
This is a little article printed in Your Bowes Park, Autumn 2013.
"Three cheers for Lenny
Lenny started working for the railway in North London on Nov 11th, 1963. “I joined when steam was just going out. I learnt all the new technology as I went along. I more or less had to teach myself on the job,” he says. Lenny came to Bowes Park station after ‘retirement’ in 2000: “I meet some of the most beautiful and friendly people. I think that is what kept me in the job, everyone is so friendly.” Our intrepid interviewer, Sue, was there on the day of the big storm and despite the disruption, no-one was getting angry with Lenny and he dealt with everyone so calmly and helpfully."
Lenny is now 81, and was at work until very recently.
