A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
I just received this from the Haringey Federation of Residents Associations
I have received the sad news that John Waller has died.
John was a very active representative of the Bounds Green & District Residents Association for over 20 years, and in past years had been a regular attender at Haringey Federation of Residents Association meetings. As a former architect he was particularly concerned to speak out over planning issues, calling for action where there was neglect (eg regarding the North Circular), and for appropriate, high-quality development which enhanced not undermined local neighbourhoods.
He was also a supporter of many other local community organisations (including Haringey Defend Council Housing and Haringey Justice for Palestinians), and was a very nice man.
His funeral will be at 10.30am, on Tuesday, 19th March at St Paul's Church, Woodlands Road, New Southgate, N11 1PN.

Hi Rachella,
John Waller was a regular contact of the Enfield and HAringey Advertiser - we didn't realise he had passed away.
We would like to write a tribute piece on him - would you be able to pass on my number: 0208 370 5476 to the HFRA?
Many Thanks,
Ruth McKee
Hello -
Will do.
I also add my condolence to the family of John Waller .When in 1984 St Gabriel' s church Bounds Green was demolished John campaigned to ensure a memorial stone was erected outside the new flats to remind us of the church. He rescued two Victorian silk processional banners from the church --these have been framed and are on display at St Paul's Church ,do take a moment to look at them if you attend his funeral and remember what a tireless campaigner he was.I shall miss his droll humour .pat
A warm tribute in the current edition of the Haringey Independent: Read it in full here
