Local people are fed up with seeing rubbish thrown on the pavements and littered about.

The BPCA Committee has recently had a number of members suggesting that the BPCA run some sort of anti-litter campaign.

So……. We have had some classic Keep Britain Tidy posters reprinted at A4 and A3, and have some plain and some laminated.  Many thanks to Hobarts for their help.

Here are the two designs.

NOW…..

Have you got a prominent front window you can put a poster in?

Have you got a fence which you can put a poster on?

If you can display a poster at A4 or A3, please do get in touch with the BPCA and we can deliver one/two to you.  Choose which of the two designs you would prefer.  Say whether you need laminated or unlaminated.

Other ideas?

Do get in touch with any other suggestions for places we can put posters or things that local people can do to try to make it a tidier Bowes Park.

Do buy a LitterPicker from Helping Hand if you would like to feel better when you go for a walk.  They make it easy to pick bits up as you stroll. http://www.helpinghand.co.uk/catalogue/   Dinosaur inspired pickers – Graptors – are there for the kids.  Litter-picking is good fun!  And the litter picker is very handy around the house also.

New River Path.  HELP NEEDED!

If you can join the rota of people helping to clear up rubbish in the Gym, the Garden, and the New River Path….. please do get in touch.  Pop in to see Emma at Killick Stores in Myddleton Road, or send us an email.  http://www.bowespark.org.uk/contact-us/    You would do a shift once a month.  Gloves, LitterPicker and bags provided.

Great initiative Caroline :) I'm sorry I don't have a spare second at the moment but was wondering, would incentives help? I'm sure members of the Bounds Green Business Association would be happy to repay volunteers' community spirit with free art/ music/dance/ sport/ well being classes and maybe even free food and drink?!

Shall we collaborate? You have my details - feel free to get in touch! Sureka x
