A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
I take a walk (for exercise) most days around our local streets (Bounds Green) and sometimes along the New River path particularly as it heads up from Myddleton Road across the N Circ towards Palmers Green. The streets can be quite messy with discarded bottles, cans and fag packets and it tends to degrade our view of where we live.
I usually take an old "bag for life" and pick up some litter as I go, most of which can be recycled when I get home. It's a shame that people drop litter but I guess it's down to the way they have been brought up. Street sweepers do a great job (try it for half an hour - it's really exhausting) but that's only ever once a week or less, and never in the quiet places. However the solution to keeping these places pleasant is simple - just go prepared to pick up a few items every few days - it will make a huge difference?

I agree, if you walk to or from one of the stations or to a bus stop pick up a piece of litter, if people do this a couple of times a week it'd make a difference.
