 Several councillors have already objected and more need to be encouraged to do so. It will take some determination by the council to resist the government’s relaxed rules for “permitted developments” like this, which play into the hands of ruthless property developers.

Agree Colin this is an awful proposal that I firmly oppose (my objection attached). Permitted development which came into force in April 2015 is enabling developers to circumvent basic things like space standards and build these tiny dwellings in often very inappropriate buildings/ locations. The human cost to the people living in these places and to the surrounding community is huge.
