Rufus (the eccentric and elderly Caribbean man with a grey beard who used to walk around Wood/Bounds Green shouting in Patois) has passed away

From Haringey Online: "Just found out about this local legends passing. Rufus was a GP years ago but he tragically lost his wife & children. This sent him over the edge and for years you would see him walking around Wood Green shouting at no one in particular but just shouting. Harmless local character who will be sadly missed on the streets around N22. RIP Rufus."

A local woman introduced me to him as ' Aaron' and he lived in the neighbouring block to mine. Saying 'Hello' to him always stopped him shouting at me. It took 20 years but eventually he'd nod at me in recognition. I knew about the tragedy but not that he was formerly a GP. A sad loss of a local character

A neighbour tells me that his full name was Aaron Gayle

I used to find him scary before I realised he wasn't, and heard about his sad story.  He was part of the rich tapestry of Wood Green life.  Glad that his troubles are now over.  RIP Rufus/Aaron
