We used amv chimney sweeps - a bit cheaper than firkins, but not as local (firkins weren't able to do ours as they were busy). http://www.amvchimneysweeps.co.uk

They were good - very tidy - and gave us a certificate for our insurance as well. Hope that helps!

Hey,

Thanks for all the help.  It was great to be able to have a couple of options recommended by locals to choose from, and made the task of getting things sorted a lot easier.

So in the spirit of that, I thought I'd just quickly update on what I decided to help anybody else who may be looking for somebody in the near future...

I went with Firkins just because they were local.  They were quick and efficient in booking an appointment.  The guys turned up on time and dealt with the issue quickly and with minimum fuss...
