weekend venue for a private party needed
can anyone recommend a local venue/function room (excluding community and church halls)?

Bounds Green Bowling and Tennis club might fall into your community hall category but worth a try. Has a bar, outside space, large room with glitter ball, kitchen if required. Basic but staff very helpful.
