Having visited the fabulous Greek deli, I noticed that an Italian Deli or is it a café?- La Coppia - looks like it maybe opening soon in Myddleton Road. Does anyone know when? it looked a hive of activity and I wondered if anyone knows any more about the business. Good to see investment in the local area.

I hope it's an Italian deli. That's one outlet which would be a welcome addition. There aren't any in Wood Green and a lovely one down near Turnpike Lane closed a few years ago.

It is an Italian Deli with, I believe, a grand opening this afternoon. Unlike some of the fly-by-night businesses that have passed through that location they have put a lot in to the refurb and it feels like a here to stay business. It really is all going on, fantastic for the road and the area. We're on the up and up!

I passed by earlier today - they are planning to open this afternoon for tastings from 4:00pm (maybe 5-ish they had a lot to get ready!) They will also be open tomorrow afternoon Saturday for tasting it looks great!

Great!   What a little gem that road is turning out to be.

Incredibly warm welcome from the new deli. Amazing cakes

Yep - just popped in with my little boy. The place looks great. We'll have to go back tomorrow to try some of those amazing looking cakes.

Cakes?  Oooh, that's tomorrow sorted then. :)

I missed my opportunity to visit La Coppia at the weekend, and it's not open this afternoon . Anyone know when it will be "properly" open?
Hiya Trish, I popped in over the weekend, sure it opens officially on Thursday this week. It was soft opening last weekend.

They officially opened yesterday (Thursday 17th) and are starting to increase their stock and also sell ice cream from next week. Lovely looking ravioli and lasagne in the chiller cabinet. Bought some sausages from the lovely friendly staff - I'll definitely go back.

My sister and I enjoyed cappuccino and Italian cannoli for our Easter Sunday breakfast today...amazingly good...

Tried it at the weekend with my two Italian friends who say that the food and coffee is the real deal! It's run by a couple from Rome who worked in the City (in London) for a few years and got fed up of the rat race and have decided to open their own deli. It's based on a chain of deli's in Rome called La Coppia that was one of this couples favourite places. They will be having proper Italian ice cream and sorbets in the future and a greater food stock.
