A Community Network for Bowes Park and Bounds Green
On Saturday 10 May We Love Myddleton Road is holding its first “cash mob” to help support the shops and businesses on the street.
What’s that?
It’s a simple way to use the community’s spending power to make a difference to our local shops, to show them some support and and to meet some of your neighbours.
You simply pledge to spend £10 in the street’s shops or businesses and then turn up on at a set time and get buying.
When’s it happening?
11am on Saturday 10 May.
Just turn up and meet everyone at the junction of Myddleton Road and Marlborough Road – outside the Red Sea Supermarket.
We’ll then head off to spend our cash in all the great businesses on the road – see below for what you can buy.
Afterwards (weather depending) the mob can head for a picnic in the Community Gardens or to a cafe to compare purchases, swap stories and to get to know each other.
Why is this important?
We Love Myddleton Road wants to work with the community and the businesses to save this wonderful street.
To give this amazing road a proper future we all need to show we are willing and support all its businesses. A cash mob like it an easy way to use our spending power to inject some money into the road – and to create a positive feeling.
We hope you”ll want to take part and will come along to show that the community really does love Myddleton Road.
Thanks and see you there.

A tenner will buy you a very satisfying meal at the very friendly Mum's Bistro - try their vegetarian moussaka.
Great to see the Cash Mob idea being shared by the local Press.
An item on the Tottenham and Wood Green Journal website by Stephen Moore spells out the idea - and the impact that local people can have through directing their spending power to support local independent traders.

Disappointed I can't make the inaugural event, but I'm looking forward to hearing what people get up to with their tenner...happy shopping.
Lots of anticipation for the Cash Mob in the local press.
Coverage so far includes:
Couldn't stick around for debrief in the garden so we snapped our joint haul at the end of the street. Lovely to chat to so many people and go into new shops. We bought in Domipol, Londis and got the £7 table at EBH Electronics at 112.
Thanks for organising! Looking forward to seeing us all in the local papers.
Blimming Papercraft was shut though weren't they! I'd promised Captain Hastings ten pound of kids toys to chew on and he's most put out. I, however, am pleased as punch with my cold meats and cheeses from the deli. Can puppies eat cheese?
Great idea! Thanks guys. It was great seeing people supporting their local businesses.
Many thanks,
